President’s Day
President’s Day is celebrated on the third Monday in February. The holiday honors all former US presidents. Initially, the day was celebrated as George Washington’s birthday. But then, since Abraham Lincoln’s birthday was also in February, it was decided that all former Presidents should be honored on this day. Interestingly, in the early 19th century, the day was declared as a fasting and prayer day. People would fast and pray to God and ask for protection over their president.
The church office and Jubilee Christian Academy will be closed in observance of this special day.
