Jubilee, Let’s ‘Faith Build’ a House Together!
Here’s an exciting opportunity for our church to partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a well-deserving family on Friday. May 8th.
This is a golden time for up to 15 volunteers. The opportunity to sign up to volunteer and any other information needed will be posted shortly.
According to Habitat, “Faith Build brings together congregations from many different denominations to put their shared faith into action by building a home for a local family. While each tradition may worship in its own way, Faith Build unites churches around a common mission: serving neighbors through love, compassion, and the tangible work of building affordable housing.”
If you have never volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, this really is a great experience. Some preliminary information is:
- Volunteers will need to arrive by 7:45 AM to check in, attend a safety briefing and overview of day.
- Our build project will be given prior to May 8th.
- Most of the time, you’ll be using just a hammer and nails, but there will be opportunities to use power tools as well. If anyone is interested in learning how to use them, H4H will be happy to provide guidance. The construction site is a learning opportunity so no one needs to have prior experience.
- Lunch will be provided around 11:00 or 11:30 AM. Water and Gatorade will be provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- The day will end around 2:00 PM.
