Jubilee, Let’s Build a House Together!
Here’s an exciting opportunity for our church to partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a well-deserving family on Saturday, October 19th.
If you have never volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, here are some details:
- Arrival: Volunteers will arrive by 7:45 AM to check in, attend a safety briefing and overview of day. Our build project will be located at 2689 Massachusetts Avenue.
- What you can do? You will be working on some stage of framing. Most of the time, you’ll be using just a hammer and nails, but there will be opportunities to use power tools as well. If anyone is interested in learning how to use them, H4H will be happy to provide guidance. The construction site is a learning opportunity so no one needs to have prior experience.
- What will be provided? Lunch will be provided around 11:00 or 11:30 AM. Water and Gatorade will be provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Wrap Up: The day will end around 2:00 PM.
